What is Lymphatic Drainage?

There are many health benefits of having the lymphatic system drained. This is a process that is done at Adica Massage Clinic during your massage.

Over time the foods we eat, things we drink and the air we breathe all contain heavy metals of one kind or another and it usually ends up in your lymph glands.  When these glands get clogged with the waste from our bodies it slows the lymph glands down and they are unable to do the job they were made to do. It overloads our ability to fight off infections, pain and it makes your skin look dull. The main role of the lymphatic system is a secondary system that nourishes and cleans the cells. There are hundreds of these in our bodies. By applying the proper amount of pressure and movements by a registered massage therapist they can help the lymph’s drain so that natural drainage can resume.

This Lymphatic drainage will help the blood flow to the cells that they feed and also clean, and enabling the lymph fluid to be taken back to the heart. People who have undergone surgery or have had sports injuries can benefit from lymphatic drainage. The lymph vessels have become overwhelmed with the demand placed on them and can result in swelling to specific areas. The Lymphatic Drainage helps to move the flow to where it should be. Chronic pain and fibromyalgia can be helped by encouraging the flow of lymph and removing waste that has built up over time.

Sinus and ear infections are also a sign that the lymph system is clogged up and not clearing the body of the toxins. When the flow starts to move normally you tend to look more refreshed, your body won’t be in as much pain, and you may even experience more energy and fewer infections or sickness. The lymph fluid is part of the immune system and it is important to have it running smoothly with no blockages.
