What is a Massage Therapist?
What is a Massage Therapist?
The definition of a massage is manual manipulation of the body’s soft tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) which can enhance an individual’s well being. A massage therapist is a person who performs the manual manipulations. This person can be registered or not registered.
Anyone can give a basic massage, but a registered massage therapist is someone who actually went to ongoing training to become certified. This person has paid for tuition and certifications and has done multiple hours of training. They also require to have ongoing registration.
A RMT will give you the peace of mind of having someone who is qualified and trained taking care of your body. Most insurance companies will only cover you if you go to a registered massage therapist. Also having a registered massage therapist is one way to have your services guaranteed since everything is regulated.
Massage Therapists are also trained in many different massage types. A regular massage is called a therapeutic massage. If you need to get further into the tissue or have an injury that needs addressing you might need a sports massage or a deep tissue massage. All of our therapists are trained in pregnancy massage and if you are expecting and need to relax and destress, we understand how draining pregnancy can be with all the changes going on with your body. We also have a massage therapist trained in infant massage, so if you want to treat your baby to an infant massage. Maybe you have a very fussy baby, an infant massage can help with that! These are just a few options we offer.
Here at Adica Massage Clinic we have you covered, we offer you a very peaceful atmosphere. All of our therapists are registered, so you know you are getting top quality service as soon as you enter. We can direct bill most of the larger insurance companies, but if that is not possible, we can give you a paper receipt or even a green receipt emailed to you. Please give us a call if you want to book an appointment or if you have any questions about particular services!
